Thomas, Hayes Lead No. 18 Miami Women Past Old Dominion

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami/AP) — The University of Miami Women's Basketball team continued it's strong start to the season on Sunday.
Jessica Thomas scored 21 points, Keyona Hayes had 18 and No. 18 Miami defeated Old Dominion 66-56 for its seventh consecutive win.
The Hurricanes (7-1) led 43-40 entering the fourth quarter after trailing 25-23 at the half.
Thomas opened the final period with a 3-pointer, added another after a Monarch basket and Hayes had a 3-point play to make it 52-42 with 7:24 to play.
A steal and layup by Erykah Davenport pushed the margin to 15 midway through the quarter and Thomas made four free throws in the final minute after the lead was cut to single digits.
NOTES
Miami made 7 of 12 shots and 6 of 9 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.
The Hurricanes finished 18 of 25 from the line while Old Dominion was 10 of 19.
Jennie Simms had 24 points and Destinee Young had 12 points and 13 boards for the Monarchs (3-3).
