Temps On Roller Coaster This Week

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Monday morning brought the coldest temperatures of the season to South Florida with low temperatures dropping to the low to mid-40's. The coldest low this winter before Monday was 47 degrees at Miami International Airport and 46 degrees at Fort Lauderdale.

But, the mercury dropped to 46 degrees at MIA Monday morning and 44 degrees at Fort Lauderdale. The average low this time of year is 64 degrees.

Some areas were as much as 20 to 25 degrees below normal thanks to the combination of clear skies and a big dip in the jet stream. Add in some cold air advection thanks to high pressure and the combination brought the temperature way down.

Despite the bright sunshine Monday, highs will remain cool in the upper 60's. Monday night, lows will fall to the 50's near the coast and the mid to upper 40's inland. Highs will be milder with the low 70's.

By Wednesday we'll be even warmer with highs in the upper 70's.

Another cold front will sweep through and Thursday morning we'll enjoy another dip in degrees with lows in the upper 40's and 50's. Highs will be cool on Thursday afternoon with the upper 60's and low 70's. By Saturday we'll enjoy milder highs in the upper 70s.
