Teens Steal Hundreds In Video Games From Florida City Walmart
FLORIDA CITY (CBS4) - Four bold teens stole hundreds of dollars worth of video game systems from a Florida City Walmart early Wednesday morning . Now police are hoping someone recognizes them from security camera pictures and gives them a call.
The theft occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the Walmart in the 33-thousand block of S. Dixie Highway. The teens, three males and a female, first went and got a plastic storage bin and put it in a shopping cart.
They then went to the electronics department where, according to Florida City police Sgt. David Hunsberger they tried to cut the security locks off several laptops but didn't have any luck. They then went over to the video game area, forced open a glass cabinet and took several Nintendo DS video games and game systems.
According to Hunsberger they stashed the game systems and games, which are valued at $45-hundred, inside the plastic container and made their way to the emergency exit in the garden center. Once outside, they jumped into a dark-colored, mid-size SUV and drove off.
On Thursday police released several images of the teens taken from the store's security cameras; in one the teens can be clearly seen pushing the cart with the storage bin.
Anyone who can identify the teens is urged to call the Florida City police at (305) 247-8223.
