MIAMI SHORES (CBSMiami) – A teenager was arrested for his connection to the armed robbery of a retired Miami-Dade judge.
According to CBS4 news partner, The Miami Herald, police arrested Ryan Joseph, 19, calling him the suspected gunman in the crime.
Joseph turned himself into police after learning of a warrant for his arrest, according to his attorney, Court Keeley.
Miami-Dade Judge Scott Silverman was robbed at his Miami Shores home in September as he was getting out of his car.
Keeley told the paper, Joseph was a football player at North Miami High who had been offered scholarships and he believes they have the wrong guy.
A second suspected of being involved, Marke Williams, had already been arrested.
Both men are now jailed in Miami-Dade.
Silverman retired as a judge in 2012 after spending 22 years on the bench. He was also the official historian for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami.
