Teen Stabbed On Lauderhill Street
LAUDERHILL (CBS4) -Police are trying to determine who stabbed a teenage boy in the middle of a Lauderhill street and then fled the scene, leaving the teen seriously injured.
Lauderhill Police say officers were called to the scene at Oakland Park Blvd. and NW 56 Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and found the victim suffering from two stab wounds to the back.
Lauderhill Fire Rescue Capt. Rick Rocco said there are at least four young suspects that all scattered after the stabbing. It it believed they ran west into a nearby apartment complex.
"It concerns all of us. to be that brazen in a well-populated area, a well-traveled area is concerning to everybody, residents and the police alike," said Capt. Rocco.
The teen was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he is expected to survive but may need surgery.
After interviewing witnesses, police believe the victim and suspects knew each other from the school they attend in Oakland Park and the stabbing may have been the result of an argument that spilled that occurred earlier in the day.
Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
