TD Garden A House Of Horrors For Heat
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat head back to Boston trying to stave off elimination in an arena that has proven to be kryptonite to the Heat's supermen.
In the regular season and postseason, the TD Garden in Boston has been a house of horrors for the Heat. On April 1, the Heat managed just 72 points at the Garden. On April 24th, the Heat was even worse scoring just 66 points in the matchup at TD Garden.
However, it should be noted that none of the Big Three played in the game on April 24th.
During the regular and postseason, the Heat are averaging just 80 points per game in their games at the TD Garden. On the flip side, Boston is averaging 91 points per game at home against the Heat this year.
Breaking it down further, the Heat are being outscored by 4 points per game in the first half of games at TD Garden. Going further, the Heat are being outscored by roughly 6.3 points per game in the third quarter in Boston.
LeBron James can't be blamed as he's scoring roughly 29 points per game in the three games he's played at TD Garden this season. Dwyane Wade's scoring has been anemic at Boston this year as he's averaged 17.7 points per game. Chris Bosh has played just once in Boston this year and scored a total of 4 points.
Overall, the Heat shoot just 41 percent from the field at TD Garden and they're just flat out awful from behind the 3-point line, shooting just 28.9 percent in Boston.
"We wouldn't want to be in this situation but we never get too high or too low in a series," James said after the loss in Game 5. "We had an opportunity to come home and take a lead, but we didn't. So we have to go up to Boston and win a game."
But winning that game may be the one thing the Heat, as well as LeBron James has played this season, can't pull off when everything is on the line.
