Tropical Storm Barry Forms In The Gulf Of Mexico
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The second Tropical Storm of the season, named Barry, has formed in the Gulf of Mexico.
At 11:00 p.m., Barry's center was in the Bay of Campeche about 40 miles east-northeast of Veracruz, Mexico. It was moving to the west at about 6 mph with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Punta el Lagarto northward to Tuxpan, Mexico.
The Nation Hurricane Center forecasts that the system will slow down late Wednesday. On the forecast track, the center of the storm will reach the coast in the state of Veracruz Thursday morning.
