Parts Of Mexico Under Hurricane Watch

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The ninth tropical storm of the season is pounding eastern Mexico with heavy rains, and after a Hurricane Hunter Aircraft flew through the storm, the tropical storm watch for parts of Mexico have been changed to hurricane watch.

At 7 p.m., storm was 60 miles east of Veracruz. Maximum sustained winds are at 60 mph and the storm remains stationary.

The Mexican government changed a tropical storm watch north of Cabo Rojo to La Pesca to a hurricane watch.

The storm is expected to impact the warning areas within 36 hours and not move much, if any, overnight.

A turn to the north-northwest is expected later Saturday.

Ingrid is expected to produce 10-15 inches of rain over Mexico with isolated 25 inch totals.
