Target To Sell High-Priced "Hunger Games" Collectibles
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Are you ready for some "Hunger Games" mania all over again?
The retailer Target has announced a new line of "Hunger Games" gear aimed at fans not starving for money and just in time for back to school shopping.
Target plans to sell high-end "Hunger Games" merchandise online.
There's a 999-dollar Mockingjay pin, just like the one heroine Katniss Everdeen wears in the movie.
A replica leather hunting jacket, similar to the one Katniss sports on the big screen, will go for 349 dollars.
Or there's a 699-dollar lithograph poster signed by ten "Hunger Games" actors, including stars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth.
The collectibles will go on sale in the days leading up to the August 21st release of the "The Hunger Games" DVD and Blu-ray.
Target is only offering 100 of each item.
Target said it's the first time it has offered licensed products in this price range but they said they wanted to take it up a notch for Hunger Games fans.
The prices are steep for the bargain shoppers Target attracts but they are offering some deals.
In stores, Target plans to start selling a line of movie-themed backpacks, pillowcases and jewelry.
Those will reach a Target audience with prices under 40-dollars.
