MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill participated in a charity event sponsored by Adidas at the Trump National golf course in Doral on Tuesday. While he was hitting golf balls and throwing footballs to raise money, fans wondered if he'd be throwing to wide receiver Mike Wallace in 2015.
"I like Mike. He's a talented player and we'll see what happens," said Tannehill.
Wallace was benched in the final game of the Dolphins season, after a disagreement on the sidelines with Tannehill and coaches. Since the incident – the organization has been non-committal to the speedy wide receiver who's in the middle of a five year, $60 million dollar deal.
"If he comes back then we're going to make it work with him and let him be the playmaker that he is," said Tannehill.
Tannehill acknowledged he's been in contact with Wallace and wants to see him return in 2015. A decision could come soon with the March 10th marking the beginning of NFL free agency.
As for the Dolphins signal caller and his future with the Dolphins, he denied rumors that he and the organization were in talks for a new deal.
"I have one year left on my contract and possible 5th year option and I can only control what I can control. So I'm just preparing myself for next year," said Tannehill.
