Tampa Area Woman Finds Gator In Bathroom
TAMPA (CBS4) - A Tampa area woman found an unexpected guest in her bathroom over the weekend.
Alexis Dunbar, who lives in Palmetto, said when she walked into her bathroom Saturday afternoon she was shocked to find a seven foot alligator staring at her with its mouth wide open. Dunbar said she screamed and the alligator hissed.
She called her boyfriend who used a small table to barricade the door until a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer showed up and hauled the gator away.
Dunbar thinks it got into the house through the doggie door on the back porch.
Spring is mating season for alligators and wildlife officials urge people to be extremely cautious, especially around water.
