Tackle Ray Willis Signs With Dolphins
DAVIE (CBS4)) -- Veteran tackle Ray Willis has signed with the Miami Dolphins after missing last season because of a knee injury.
Willis was a disappointment with the Seattle Seahawks, who took him in the fourth round of the 2005 draft.
Willis has played in 44 career games, with 26 starts. He played collegiately at Florida State where he started 35 career games for Seminoles.
Willis earned honorable-mention All-ACC honors as a senior while leading the way for FSU's offense to average 372.5 yards per game, according to a press release from the Dolphins.
Additionally, he was named ACC offensive lineman of the week twice as a junior.
Born, August 13, 1982, Willis attended Angleton (Texas) High School where he was an all-district selection as senior and an honorable mention Class 5A all-state choice.
The 6-6, 304-pound Willis reinforces depth at tackle, where Jake Long and newcomer Marc Colombo are the projected starters.
The Dolphins waived tackle Micah Kia on Saturday.
