Swim Advisory Issued For Parts Of NE Miami-Dade
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Health authorities and the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department have issued a swim advisory for a section of the Inter-coastal waterway and Biscayne Bay.
An 18-inch sewer force main ruptured Sunday at 7000 Island Boulevard spilling 250,000 gallons of sewage.
Anyone in that area is asked to avoid contact with the water including swimming and recreational activities between William Lehman Causeway to the north and Haulover Inlet to the south.
The advisory includes the waters of Maule Lake, Little Maule Lake, Dumfoundling Bay, Oleta River State Park and the Intracoastal Waterway between 193rd Street and Haulover Inlet.

Officials with the Department of Health and the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources are conducting tests on the water in the advisory area and the advisory will remain in effect until the tests are clear.
