SWAT Team Training To Take Place Overnight At Sawgrass Mills
SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – A major show of force is expected Tuesday night at the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise but don't be alarmed, it's only a training exercise.
More than 150 law enforcement officers are expected to take part in a SWAT training exercise after the mall closes.
That means the training won't get started until 10:00 p.m. or later.
Scenarios including an active shooter, vehicle assault; armed, barricaded subject; officer-down with remote armored vehicle rescue; transit bus and school bus assaults will be rehearsed all night long until almost dawn Wednesday.
The exercises are not for public viewing.
