MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Fire Rescue officials have checked a package deemed suspicious at a federal courthouse in Miami and given it the all clear.
The package was found in a hall way in the United States Courthouse building located at 400 North Miami Ave. around 10:30 a.m.
Miami Police, Miami Fire Rescue and the bomb squad were all called in.
Just before 11 a.m., a hazardous materials team was investigating what looked like a backpack. Authorities had no idea what was inside it.
No one was allowed in or out of the federal courthouse during the investigation.
The scene was cleared by noon.
One person has been detained in connection to the package, according to Miami Fire Rescue.
An officer was treated at the scene because his eyes were irritated. CBS4's Peter D'Oench was told he was going to be okay.
At on point, traffic in the area was being diverted away from 3rd to 5th Streets and North Miami Avenue to NW 1st Avenue.
