Passenger Questioned At MIA After Suspicious Package Found In Tallahassee
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A baggage checked-in for a passenger en-route to Miami from Tallahassee caused suspicion among airport officials Saturday.
According to TSA, at approximately 7:25 AM, during baggage screening at Tallahassee Regional Airport, officials alerted Police of a suspicious checked-in luggage.
As a matter of precaution, the bag was removed and the airport terminal was evacuated until the Big Bend Regional Bomb Squad could investigate.
The bag belonged to a passenger on American Eagle Flight 3491 from Tallahassee to Miami International Airport.
The flight took-off, but upon arrival at MIA, the plane was confined to a safe area where local law enforcement authorities could question the passenger, and that passenger's two companions, associated with the suspicious bag.
All passengers clear of suspicion were allowed to exit the plane to return to the terminal.
Eventually the bag was found to contain various electronic devices yet no indication that the bag was a threat to public safety.
