FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Three suspects were arrested and one still remains on the loose after police said what began as an armed robbery over beer quickly turned into a SWAT situation.
Authorities are now searching for Timmy Anderson.
The armed robbery occurred just before midnight Tuesday at the Farm Stores located at 6014 Kimberly Blvd. Police said Anderson was inside the store, grabbed a six-pack of beer and held up the clerk.
"The man pulled out a gun, pointed it at the employee and told him he had no intentions of paying for the beer," the Broward Sheriff's Office said. "He walked out, beer in hand, but paused as he reached the door. He turned back to the cashier and demanded a pack of Black & Mild cigars. The employee complied."
Once outside, Anderson got into a red Impala with the three others.
BSO responded and set up a perimeter, first apprehending the driver. A second suspect was caught near another Farm Stores at 8019 Kimberly Blvd.
A third ran inside an unoccupied home located at 6220 S.W. 10th Court and barricaded himself inside. The SWAT team was called out and were able to clear the home and detain the guy.
Anderson allegedly fled into a nearby home at 6210 S.W. 10th Court, where several people were inside.
SWAT officers were able to safely clear that home, as well, without anyone getting hurt. However, Anderson fled the home and now remains at large.
