Suspect Named In Fatal Shooting Of Miami Beach Teen
MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - Miami Beach Police say they need to locate a man they say fatally shot a teen during a robbery attempt earlier this year.
Pedro Exposito is wanted for the murder of Robert Lakatos, 18, near the 79th Street beach entrance on April 6.
Police say Exposito has been seen recently in Marion and Citrus counties and is believed to be using his alias "Mike".
He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Police say Lakatos was out with one of his brothers just before midnight when his brother began talking to a person who may have been trying to rob him.
Sources say words were exchanged, and Lakatos was shot.
Police responded to the scene and launched a manhunt for the suspected shooter, now thought to be Exposito.
The suspect reportedly has a tattoo of a marijuana leaf on his chest area and may have been carrying a black book bag when he fled the scene.
Police don't believe the shooting had anything to do with gangs.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Miami Beach Homicide Unit (305)673-7870 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
