"Survivor: One World" Reveals New Cast, New Twists
NEW YORK (CBSMiami) – It's time to meet the new castaways. The contestants for the 24th season of the hit reality show "Survivor" were unveiled by CBS Wednesday.
This collection of eighteen new players will have to deal with a new twist. For the first time in the show's history, both of the tribes, which will be men vs. women, will build their camps on the same beach. They'll have to decide just how much of their resources and intel they want to share with the other tribe.
It's sure to cause plenty of cross-tribe alliances, and other mischief.
The tribes are called Salani and Manono, named after islands in Samoa.
There are few new tricks as well. While Redemption Island is out, "Do It Yourself Challenges" are in. Also, hidden immunity idols will be played differently. This time, there will be two idols hidden at the camp — one for each tribe — but finding your tribe's idol does not guarantee your safety. Instead, the player who finds the idol has to give it to someone from the other tribe.
"Survivor: One World" will premiere Wednesday, February 15 at 8 p.m. on CBS4.
