Sunday's Marlins-Nationals Game Rained Out
WASHINGTON (AP) — The final game of the series between the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals has been rained out, with no makeup date announced.
The Nationals won the first two games with late-inning comebacks, and will take their National League East-leading 12-4 record on a West Coast swing next week. They will play consecutive three-game series against the Padres and the Dodgers.
Manager Davey Johnson said Sunday he'd maintain his current pitching rotation with left-hander Gio Gonzalez starting Tuesday against the Padres followed by right-handers Jordan Zimmermann and Edwin Jackson.
Jose Reyes and the Marlins next face the Mets, with a three-game series starting Tuesday. The shortstop will make his first appearance against his former club since joining the Marlins as a free agent this offseason.
