Study: Anti-Semitic Incidents Are Decreasing

MIAMI (AP) — Anti-Semitic incidents declined in Florida by 20 percent between 2012 and 2011.

That's according to a study released Monday by the Anti-Defamation League.

The Audit of Anti-Semitic Incidents reports that a total of 88 anti-Semitic incidents of assault, vandalism and harassment were reported to ADL in Florida in 2012, down from 111 anti-Semitic incidents in 2011.

The ADL says this snapshot of anti-Semitism in Florida parallels the three-year trend of incremental declines experienced nationwide. In 2012, a total of 927 anti-Semitic incidents across the U.S. were captured in the audit, marking a 14 percent decline from the 1,080 incidents reported in 2011.

Florida continues to rank fourth nationwide with the highest amount of reported anti-Semitic incidents, following California, New York and New Jersey.
