Stuck Travelers In FLL Airport Try To Find A Way Out

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Delay after delay peppered with cancellations, the travel experience has been exhausting for some, enough to sack on the terminal carpet while others grab a comfy seat and some shut-eye.

The flight boards at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport did not have good news.

"I was supposed to leave Friday but my flight was cancelled.  But, yeah so, I can't say I'm too sad because I got to hang out here in Fort Lauderdale for another few days, "said Dawn Drake who is trying to fly to  John F. Kennedy International Airport.

It may be a little longer before she gets home.

JFK was closed earlier this morning for a brief while after a Delta commuter jet ran off the ramp.

Others gave up on waiting and took a refund from JetBlue.

"They said they don't have any flights until Friday or Saturday so they gave me a refund and I have to find my way home," said Kiera Bolden who was trying to fly to New York.

Others were trying to fly West but were delayed because of aircraft stuck up North.

"We should have been catching the flight at 5 and now we're leaving at 10 o'clock,"said Bernard Evans who is trying to fly to San Francisco.
