Steering You Right: New Palmetto Expressway Ramp To Open Thursday
MIAMI (CBS4) - We're not sure if Don Shula would approve of his expressway shutting down this week, but it's all in an effort to improve the roadway.
State Road 874 is closing in both directions from Kendall Drive to State Road 826/Palmetto Expressway every night until Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. You can take the Palmetto Expressway or Galloway Rd as your alternates.
This past Sunday a new ramp from the southbound Palmetto Expressway to the westbound Dolphin Expressway was supposed to open. However, rain postponed the completion of the project. It should be open on Thursday, Dec. 12th. When it does, drivers on southbound SR 826 heading will reach the ramp to westbound SR 836 immediately after passing the Northwest 25 Street exit.
Drivers on the southbound SR 826 ramp from NW 25 Street will exit to the left and connect with the mainline southbound SR 826 or continue straight on the ramp lane to connect with westbound SR 836.
In Broward, the ramp from eastbound I-595 to eastbound State Road 84 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. every night until Friday.
