Steering You Right: More Nightly Lane Closures On I-95
MIAMI (CBS4) - This week you can expect construction to close down lanes from Miami-Dade to Broward County.
And a construction project is actually finish up in South Florida? Can you believe it!
This is week two of a construction project on I-95 in South Florida. Cones and crews will be all over the "I" this week. Up to three northbound and southbound lanes will be closed nightly from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade all the way up to Sunrise Blvd. in Broward County. Expect the closures overnight until Friday morning.
On the bright side, there's a collective sigh of relief for Palmetto Expressway drivers. The northbound exit ramp to NW 25th Street is now open. The ramp opening was postponed but this past Sunday it finally opened. The new ramp is located about half a mile earlier than the old NW 25th Street ramp.
"Northwest drivers that want to exit at Northwest 25th street once they're in the area of 836, they are passing underneath the 836, they should already be on the right hand lane so they can go ahead and take the new exit," said Oscar Gonzalez from the Florida Department of Transportation.
Broward drivers, the Florida Department of Transportation is giving you a chance to let them know your concerns or ask questions about the new reversible lanes on I-595. The public hearing is this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Signature Grand in Davie.
