Stanton Headed For Home Run Derby
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you've ever seen Giancarlo Stanton take batting practice, you understand the power he has from the plate. Now, the entire country is about to see that power during the All-Star break.
Stanton has been invited to participate in the annual Home Run Derby that is held the day before the annual Major League Baseball All-Star Game, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald.
Giancarlo has become known for his monster shots in batting practice, and even in recent games. In May, he knocked out some lights in the left field scoreboard when he hit a homer to leftfield.
Stanton currently has an on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of .886.
