Sports Agenda for Thursday (4/26/12)

Big Story:
Two HUGE events going on in the sports world for South Florida fans tonight: the NFL Draft & Game 7 Of The Stanley Cup Quarterfinals. The Heat scrubs will be playing tonight and the Marlins will also finish a three-game series in New York.

Lyrics of the Day:
"Master of puppets I'm pulling your strings. Blinded by me, you can't see a thing. Just call my name, cause I'll hear you scream……MASTER….MASTER." – from the song Master of Puppets by Metallica.

NFL Draft: (first round – 7:30 p.m. I think)
Tannehill or Coples or Ingram or Floyd or Kuechly or someone else.
I love draft season because I study their stats and watch almost every college football game I can see each year, so this is one of my favorite days.
Just so we're clear….the Dolphins will draft Ryan Tannehill.
But…
I still think they should draft a pass rusher, the best one available, or Kuechly, who I'm positive will be a stud in the mold of Ray Lewis.
Nevertheless, get ready to rally behind Tanne starting tonight.
Where it could get interesting is number 3 where the Vikings don't want to draft Ryan Kalil to protect Christian Ponder's blind side.
Brilliant move their Vikings!
But that could open the door for Buffalo, who needs a left tackle worse that the Dolphins need a quarterback, to jump up and get Kalil.
Or they could jump to Cleveland.
If you really wanted to have some fun, send the Detroit Lions up and get Kalil. Talk about a helluva trade there.
Trades, drama, players dropping, players rising, teams getting booed, the sleeper pick.
Can't get here fast enough today.

Florida Panthers: (Game 7 TONIGHT! 8:30 p.m. at Bank Atlantic Center versus the Devils)
Still waiting on word about Theodore, but it doesn't really matter who's between the pipes tonight.
What matters is whether the Panthers can keep the puck out of their zone.
Florida has to come out swinging for the fences and playing as aggressive as their team can possibly play.
This is it tonight, it's for all the marbles, so you give it everything you got to get to the next round.
I think Clemmensen will get the start tonight, but don't quote me on that.
I'd probably go Clemmensen, unless I was 100% sure Theodore was ready.
But please Florida forwards, get the puck in front of Brodeur more often.
The whole rope-a-dope hockey won't get you to the semi-finals.
Devils goalies Martin Brodeur is easily beatable.
You just have to keep the puck out of your zone and in front of him.
Special start time at 8:30 p.m. tonight!!!

Miami Heat: (@ Washington Wizards, 8 p.m. Sun Sports)
Well, this will be about as boring a game as you will see this year.
No Big Three, and I'd be surprised if they let Udonis and Mario break too much of a sweat tonight.
The game is meaningless and doesn't impact either team.
It's all about the playoffs now, and it just so happens, I've already put together a preview of the Knicks series!

Miami Marlins: (@ New York Mets, 1:10 p.m.)
So Mark Buehrle pitched extremely well again last night and still got the loss.
Why?
Because the Marlins still couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.
These are the averages of the 1-5 hitters last night.
.217, .277, .234, .319, .241
Yikes.
Jose Reyes continues to struggle hitting lead off and I'm more in favor of dropping him to second and pushing Bonifacio back to leadoff.
Emilio starred in that role last year, so give him a shot now.
I mean c'mon, you're losing to the Mets!?!?!
Yknow the team so bad no one goes to the games?
Wait, that's also the Marlins.
Oops.
