Speed Limit Dropped On I-95 In Broward
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Drivers on I-95 in Broward will want to back off the gas a bit.
On Tuesday, the speed limit dropped from 65 mph to 55 mph from the Miami-Dade County line to just north of Griffin Road.
The lower speed limit was implemented for a number of construction projects including construction of the I-95 express lanes between the Golden Glades interchange and Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
On Wednesday, the traffic pattern will shift lanes to the median so crews can widen over Stirling Road and Hollywood Boulevard, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
The lower speed limit is expected to be in place until late 2014.
The speed limit on I-95 in Miami-Dade already is 55 mph.
