CAPE CANAVERAL (CBSMiami/AP) — After an early morning launch on Monday, SpaceX cargo capsule has arrived at the International Space Station with a new docking port needed for future rocket ships.
SpaceX is working on a crew-worthy Dragon, while Boeing is developing a capsule for astronauts named Starliner.
The Dragon capsule was also packed with more than 2 tons of supplies and equipment. The shipment includes a docking port needed for future rocket ships.
This was SpaceX's second attempt to get the new docking port to the space station. A year earlier, the first of these new docking rings was destroyed in a SpaceX launch accident.
The two U.S. space station residents used a robot arm for Wednesday's 250-mile-high Dragon capture.
