Spotty showers to sweep South Florida, NEXT Weather Alert mid-week
MIAMI - An easterly breeze will continue to bring scattered, swift-moving showers through the area once again on Tuesday. An isolated storm or two cannot be ruled out, so some might even hear some rumbles of thunder.
Afternoon highs will warm into the low 80s under a mostly cloudy sky.
Wednesday will continue with the wet weather trend, with additional scattered showers and isolated storms in the forecast. A NEXT Weather Alert has been issued for Wednesday for the potential of locally heavy downpours.
Thursday will be the last day of wet conditions out ahead of a cold front set to pass through Thursday night. Additional rounds of locally heavy rain will remain a possibility through Thursday before the cold front brings in a dry and much cooler batch of air, which will put an end to our chances of rain on Friday.
The chill returns this weekend, just in time for the Winter Solstice on Saturday. Expect lows back into the 50s Saturday and Sunday morning with highs only set to warm into the lower 70s under a dry sky.
The CBS Miami NEXT Weather Team issues NEXT Weather Alerts when they know the weather is expected to impact your day or get in your way. While this doesn't necessarily mean dangerous weather is in the forecast, it does mean you'll want to plan ahead to make sure you and your family are prepared for what Mother Nature throws your way. The goal is to inform so that families can plan and take action if necessary.
