South Florida Opens Homes To Flood Threatened Pets
DANIA BEACH (CBS4) - Three dogs and one cat which were rescued from the flood stricken area of Kennett, Missouri and brought to the Humane Society of Broward County now have new homes.
Spokeswoman Cherie Wachter said they were adopted Sunday after being cleaned up and checked by the vet techs.
The animals were a part of a group of approximately 20 dogs and 16 cats which made the 1100 mile trip to South Florida.
Due to the record breaking flood waters their families had no other option but to give up their pets in the hope that other families will give their pet a home.
South Floridians interested in adopting a pet are asked to visit the society at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale.
