Something Extra: Rubio And Pitbull
MIAMI (CBS4) - Florida Senator Marco Rubio is a rising star in the GOP and a legitimate contender for the party's presidential nomination in 2016, but he keeps making waves with his taste in music.
He got into a little dustup recently when he mentioned in a speech that the 70's were a frightening time, joking that the Bee Gees were part of the reason why.
Now, the Senator, a well-known lover of rap and hip hop, has gotten into a bit of a feud with Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull.
In an interview with GQ, he said Pitbull's music was all party songs that had no message, implying he's no Eminem or Tupac.
The Senator backed off late last night, tweeting that he does like Pitbull's music, that he's proud Pitbull is from Miami, and that he's said so publicly before.
But, in the GQ interview, he also said one of his favorite songs, is the very violent "Straight Outta Compton" by N.W.A.
The song uses variations on the "F" word more than a dozen times, the "N" word a half dozen times, and whole bunch of other expletives.
If the Senator makes it to the White House, music at parties may not be to the liking of the Tea Party.
