Something Extra: Caine's Coup

MIAMI (CBS4) - Millions of people have been inspired by the nine-year-old boy whose dream of owning an arcade came true.

Caine Monroy's imagination and hard work built a full arcade out of cardboard last year, with tickets and prizes, but nobody came.  At least not until a filmmaker happened upon it, organized a flash mob to play at the arcade, and made a heartwarming movie about it that went viral worldwide.

In just a few months, that led to the founding of the Imagination Foundation, dedicated to fostering creativity and entrepreneurship in kids, and to what's being called the Global Cardboard Challenge this Saturday.

At more than two hundred events in more than thirty countries, kids who have come up with cardboard inventions from Havana to Haifa, Uganda to the United States, will celebrate their creativity and come out and play.

It's always amazing to see how one person can make the world a better place.  It's especially amazing when that person is a nine year old child.

The original Caine's Arcade is still open on weekends in East L.A.  If you'd like to see the original movie and a sequel, we've provided the links below.
