Something Extra: 2012's Hollywood Power Players

MIAMI (CBS4) - If you want to be a powerful celebrity, the music business might be the ticket.  Seven of the top eleven celebrities on Forbes Magazine's annual list are singers and, mostly, women.

Jennifer Lopez took the top spot away from Lady Gaga who dropped to number 5, greatly because J-Lo has become a one-woman conglomerate.      She's having the last laugh over critics who had said her career was dead and who ridiculed her choice to become an "American Idol" judge.

Oprah stayed at second, despite many setbacks, mostly because she made one hundred sixty five million bucks, a lot more than anybody else.

Internet searches and social media strength helped push Justin Bieber to third and Rihanna to fourth.

Britney Spears has gotten her act together.  She's sixth, followed by, yes, Kim Kardashian, and Katy Perry.

The only movie moguls in the top ten are Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg.

Tiger Woods held on to the most powerful spot among athletes, twelfth overall, despite his many problems and mediocre play.

Lebron followed at 15th.

One newcomer? Two and a Half Men's Ashton Kutcher at fifty first.

The man he replaced, Charlie Sheen, is gone and Lindsey Lohan is nowhere to be found.  Maybe there's a lesson there that bad behavior doesn't pay.
