Soho Beach House Celebrates One Year Anniversary
MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - It's a world of pure imagination at the Soho Beach House on Miami Beach, where the members only club is celebrating it's one year anniversary, Willy Wonka style.
As cocktails and candies flow freely at the ultra cool hotel and private club founder Nick Jones, who started the first Soho House in London in 1995 talked to CBS4's Lisa Petrillo about this 9th property on the Soho roster, which also includes Berlin and New York.
"I think people from Miami are fantastic, diverse, multi-cultural who absolutely fit into our membership" said Jones
Memberships run $2000 annually which gets you inside the relaxed atmosphere.
"I think a lot of people were dubious to start with and thought 'why do I need to pay for membership?' I think now they realize the membership is good value," Jones said.
The club has many amenities, from restaurants to bars and even a movie theatre. But don't bring your cell phone, camera, or attitude.
"I think what Soho House offers is we are like minded individuals who can come together and have reasonably priced food, good quality food, great drinks. We have great members events and they are surrounded by the people they want to be surrounded by," says Jones
Nick Jones has plans to open 3 more Soho Houses around the world; Mumbai, Istanbul and Chicago.
