MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Have you ever said to yourself, "hey, I like soccer and I like boating. Why isn't there a soccer ball-shaped watercraft?" Well, the strange desire to hybridize a ball and boating has materialized and it's finally stateside.
FloatBall – a popular international attraction – is making its U.S. debut at Zoo Miami on Friday.
The spherical schooner is a sustainable experience that uses clean energy for its power. Thanks to its eco-friendly power source, FloatBalls don't make noise.
Up to 10 people can fit into the watercraft, which is equipped with LED TVs, Wi-Fi 4G, digital sound and more. But if you want to disconnect from the digital world, FloatBall allows for panoramic 360-degree views as it travels the Amazon & Beyond Lake at Zoo Miami.
The FloatBalls have been bouncing around since 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was wildly popular during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Who would have guessed?
The award winning watercraft was created a group of nautical entrepreneurs with a going-green mentality. FloatBoat is operated by Aquatic Sports in partnership with Zoo Miami.
