Snap A Photo At Zoo Miami For Contest

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com/AP)-- Eighth graders in Miami who snap a photo of animals at the zoo can win some cash, and it's all to build awareness of the world's wildlife.

As part of the contest, students are asked to take a photograph of an animal at Zoo Miami. The contest is a month-long contest, and starts Saturday. Winners will receive awards of up to $2,000.

A news release states that the ZoolensSM Photography Project is a photo contest designed to help build awareness to students of the world's wildlife. Mercantil Commercebank, Zoo Miami and the Zoological Society of Florida partnered for the launch of the contest.

Among the judges will be photographer and wildlife expert Ron Magill with Zoo Miami, Miami Herald photographer Carl Juste, and Zoological Society board member Grizzel Gonzalez.
