FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Pembroke Pines police have released a sketch of a man they say acted aggressively toward a teenage girl while she was out walking her dog.
The 16-year old said it happened Tuesday around 1 p.m. She said he was walking her dog on the sidewalk in the 20300 block of SW 5th Street when a man came up and asked if he could pet the it.
The teen said the man tried to get her to come to him. When she refused and kept walking, she said he went to his SUV, got a crowbar and began to follow her.
"The man went to his white colored SUV, retrieved a crowbar from the SUV and began to follow the young lady again," said Pembroke Pines Police Capt. Al Xiques.
Police said the man wasn't waving the crowbar.
"He concealed it behind his arm as he continued to follow her," Xiques explained.
She told police the man got verbally aggressive with his demands to pet her dog and picked up his pace when she began to walk faster.
The teen ended up running back to her house where she locked the door and called her mother. She said the man went back to his SUV and then drove by her house as he drove off.
"It completely freaks me out because I walk my dog in this area all the time, kind of scary!" said resident Casandra Bolonas.
The girl described the man as being around 40-years old, 6' 2", 210 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She said he had a wrinkled face and a scar on the bottom right side of his chin. He was driving a white older model SUV (unknown Florida tag) with a baseball sized dent on the rear driver's side door.
Now her neighbors and police really want to know, what was the guy after?
"Maybe he wanted to take her, maybe that was a rouse to get her into the car or something. Who knows?" said resident Mateo Matovelle.
Anyone with information on who the man is, should contact Pembroke Pines police at (954) 431-2200.
