Shooting In Miami Gardens Leaves One Person Dead
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – Police are looking for a suspect Friday after one person was found dead on the side of a home.
Miami Gardens Police received a call around 12:15 PM and, upon arrival, they found a man lying on the side of the Miami Gardens home.
Friends have identified the victim as 26-year-old Michael Miranda to CBS4's Peter D'Oench.
Miranda, according to neighbors, shared the home with his girlfriend.
Miami Gardens Police said a witness heard one shot before Miranda was discovered.
A man, who identified himself to D'Oench as Brendan H., said that he's known Miranda for at least 16 years.

"To me what I saw was a gentle person. What I saw was a neighbor. What I saw was love. Michael came around here when I was nine or 10 years old. I've known him since then," Brendan said.
Detective Michael Wright, with Miami Gardens Police, said they are looking for a suspect but don't have a description.
A check of records does show that the alleged victim has been arrested at least a dozen times before on a number of drug charges, battery and aggravated battery and resisting arrest.
"This is not the first shooting involving this family. Any idea what prompted this shooting, I can't say," said Brendan.
Police need help and are looking for answers.
"We just want justice for the victim and the victim's family. We just want witnesses to come forward with information," said Detective Wright.
Brendan said he is upset with how the situation was handled—on witnesses' part.
"I'm very upset to know that people will call the police and complain about shots fired but nobody would step up and say what they say. I wish the person would come forward and turn themselves in so we can solve this," said Brendan. "I would like people to call and tell officers what they saw. I would like it if in the City of Miami Gardens we could have all these shootings and murders stop here."
Police did say they are getting some help from witnesses. Even though there is no description of the suspect, detectives have been going door to door looking for information.
