One Person In Custody After Miramar Carjacking
MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – A carjacking in Miramar late Sunday night ended in gunfire, one person shot, and another in handcuffs.
"It was two, pow, pow, right back to back," said a resident of the 3600 block of Malberry Lane where it took place.
The man, who asked that he not be identified, said he then heard screams for help.
"He was screaming in pain, it sounded like they were in agony, sounded like they got shot," he said.
Miramar police said the man who was shot was dropping someone off in the neighborhood, just south of Miramar Parkway.
"Police received a call of a carjacking at the location," said Miramar police Officer Tiffany Roy. "The victim was shot and transported to Memorial Regional Hospital."
The armed carjacker took off in the man's white Mercedes-Benz.
Police tracked down the car in Miami Gardens and took one person into custody.
