Senate Democrat Considering Challenging Scott

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – Florida Governor Rick Scott isn't even through his first year in office, but an opposition candidate for the 2014 race may be getting closer to challenging Scott.

According to the News Service of Florida, Senate Democratic leader Nan Rich of Weston is seriously considering a challenge to Scott in the 2014 race.

"When I look at what has happened to the people in this state; I just feel that our priorities are not correct," Rich told the NSF.

Rich has served in the Florida Legislature since 2000 and was at one-time the head of the National Council of Jewish Women.

"I don't think anybody could say that education and human services are our priorities," Rich said. "Those areas where I've spent a lot of time both in and out of public service; I think I would be a good governor."
