Sen. Rubio To Headline Hispanic Leadership Conference
MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - The keynote speaker at the Hispanic Leadership Network's two-day conference in Miami at the end of this month will be Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.
The national conference of a Republican-led advocacy group seeking to reach out to Latino voters will be co-chaired by former Gov. Jeb Bush and U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez. Former White House counselor Ed Gillespie will also speak. He served under President George W. Bush.
The conference begins January 27th; just in time for the state's Jan. 31 GOP primary.
The network will also co-host a presidential debate with CNN and the Florida GOP. The debate will also air on CNN en Espanol.
Rubio has previously sent video messages, but this will be his first visit to the conference. It comes as the party's candidates are wooing Florida's influential Cuban-American and Puerto Rican voters.
