Search Grows For Orlando Woman, Vanished After People's Court Taping
ORLANDO (CBSMiami) - An Orlando woman who appeared on the syndicated TV program "The People's Court" to settle a dispute with her ex boyfriend went missing a day after the program was taped, and now her family has added $50 thousand to an existing $13 thousand reward to help find her.
Michelle Parker disappeared November 17 after she appeared on a taped episode of "The People's Court" with Dale Smith, her ex-fiance. The two have 2 children together, and while they had a rocky relationship, police say Smith is not a suspect in her disappearance.
On the show, the two battled and traded insults. At stake was a $5,000 engagement ring she tossed away during one of their spats. Dale Smith wanted her to repay the cost, but the "judge" ruled the two should split the loss.
Parker's SUV was found the day after she went missing. Her family believes the 33-year-old mother of three was carjacked shortly after her appearance on the show.
The 33-year-old woman left a taped message on her Father's answering machine, shortly before she was seen the the last time, asking him to call her. She dropped off her twins with their father, Smith, shortly before heading for work.
Volunteers are circulating flyers asking for help finding Parker, and showing jewelry she may have been wearing when she disappeared.
The Orlando Police Department has not named any suspects. Police urge anyone with information about Parker's whereabouts to call 1-800-423-8477. In addition to the $63 thousand reward from the family, CrimeLine is also offering a $5 thousand reward.
