Search For Lynda Meier Ends With No New Leads
MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) - After days of searching a woody 190-acre terrain in Miami Gardens for possible remains of a Hallandale Beach woman who disappeared over a year ago, police say they have found nothing.
The search began on Monday with a crew of investigators from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Hallandale Beach police, and other South Florida agencies along with the help of up to eight cadaver dogs.
The search took place in a fenced land near NW 207th Street and 41st Avenue. A small pond is contained on the property.
Despite not finding any remains or evidence of Lynda Meier's disappearance, Officers are waiting on soil samples after cadaver dogs reacted to something in the area.
According to Hallandale Beach Police Chief Dwayne Flournoy they are not done searching the area, however, they do not plan on going back to the site any time soon.

Meier, 40, was last seen on June 4th on a fuzzy surveillance tape leaving her beach side condominium. A surveillance camera also captured her taking cash from an ATM. Her Cadillac Escalade was last seen going westbound on Hallandale Beach Boulevard from U.S. 1. The vehicle was found abandoned a week later in Opa-Locka.
Police have questioned Antwan Kennedy, 27, and Dallas King, 29, about her disappearance. No charges have been filed, but Flournoy said the two men remain persons of interest. Kennedy is a longtime friend of Meier and talked with her on the phone before she vanished.
Police say King bought a cell phone and attempted to use Meier's debit and credit cards after her disappearance.
"We know that Ms. Meier never had a relationship with Mr. King and the only connection that she had with Mr. King was through Mr. Kennedy," said Chief Flournoy.
State corrections records show Kennedy is currently serving probation stemming from an aggravated assault with a weapon conviction, and King is in prison for life for an armed robbery with a deadly weapon conviction; neither one has been charged in the Meier case.
