Scott's Bus Tour Continues With Big Name Politicians

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) - Gov. Rick Scott continued his Get Out the Early Vote bus tour on Friday, which included some big name Republican politicians.
Scott's Friday bus tour started at 8 a.m. at La Cubanita Cafe in Tampa Bay. It was the first stop before joining former Gov. Jeb Bush, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera for a fundraiser at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
The fundraiser started at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch reception costing $250 per person. Scott joined the fundraiser's big money "Event Chair Luncheon" sometime after 12:45 p.m. The event was held for those who have either donated or raised $25,000.
The tour concluded at 3:45 with a stop at his Coral Springs Victory Office located on 10168 West Sample Road.

Rick Scott arrived to cheers of let's keep working and four more years.
During the rally, The governor touted his record of job creation and education gains in the past four years and he continued to criticize the record of his opponent Democrat Charlie Crist.
He hammered Crist on his lack of business experience and job while Crist was a Republican governor from 2006 to 2010.
The governor blamed cuts to education when he first took office to the end of federal stimulus dollars and the legacy left behind by Crist. Scott said he's changed things.
"Historic money for K-12 education...Teachers had the opportunity last year for a a pay raise. Next year we'll have the highest per pupil funding," said Scott.
Scott also blamed Crist for raising taxes and the amount of foreclosures that affected Florida.
The governor said, at this point the race, which polls show is basically tied comes down to turnout.
Governor Scott said if you care about jobs and education you will vote in this election.
According to CBS4 News partner the Miami Herald, Scott had other potential business on Friday.
The herald reported, Governor Scott was scheduled to be deposed in a lawsuit he filed over blocking access to information about email accounts he and his administration set up. However, Scott decided instead to campaign and attend a fundraiser in Coral Gables.
Scott told reporters he did not use the personal email accounts to conduct state business.
"No of course not. We do the right things. I email with my wife and two daughters," said Scott.
The governor will head to Jacksonville for events on Saturday but he won't be away from South Florida for long. He's planning to return to the area in plantation for a get out the vote event Sunday with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
Former Governor and Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Crist made stops in South Florida on Friday too.
Crist spoke with voters and volunteers in Deerfield Beach, Overtown, and Miami Gardens for various events including rallies and canvasses.
