Scott Omits Email Account From State Website

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – When Governor Rick Scott began publicly posting his emails last May he called it an 'open and transparent window into state government'.

But it turns out 'Project Sunburst' wasn't as transparent as he made it out to be. The emails made public were not from Scott's official state account, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald. They were from a different account used almost exclusively by conservative supports.

After the Herald/Times questioned the governor's office over the unusually high number of positive emails, they admitted there were two separate email accounts.

Facing criticism for posting the misleading positive emails, the Scott administration said all of the emails will now be made available. The also announced that they would phase out RLS@eog.myflorida.com account which Scott used to respond to email. That address, which was not on any official state website, appeared on many Tea Party websites across the state, under the heading "Governor Rick Scott's email."
