Sapp Says Shockey Was Saints Snitch To NFL
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two former Miami Hurricanes stars are in a very public dispute on Twitter over the New Orleans Saints bounty program.
Former NFL star defensive tackle Warren Sapp took to Twitter Wednesday to say that he knew who the "snitch" was who turned in the Saints for the bounty program that paid players bonuses for injuring opponents.
Not too long after that tweet, Sapp said that it was former New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey.
Shockey was not pleased with Sapp's accusation and tweeted back at Sapp, "my *expletive*!!! I don't even play defense! Haha."
Shockey wasn't done tweeting to Sapp, "Really?? Wow did I also have something to do with the um scandal?" He would go on to say that Sapp knows where to find him.
Sapp, who has never endeared himself to many with his boisterous, over-the-top personality, didn't back down from his claim that Shockey was the "snitch."
Shockey spoke to NFL Network's Jeff Darlington after Sapp made his accusations and remained adamant that he wasn't the snitch.
"There's nothing I can say that will take people's opinion away," Shockey said. "But I don't have to defend myself."
