S. Fla. Woman Turns In $1,800 Cash Found At Drive-Thru ATM
BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) – A South Florida woman has proved there are still some honest people out there.
Adriana Allen, 46, of Boca Raton, found $1,800 in cash poking out of a drive-thru ATM deposit slot at a Chase Bank in Boynton Beach on Sunday.
According to a police incident report, Allen said she didn't see any other cars around when she pulled up to the ATM. She even tried to push the cash back into the deposit slot but the machine wouldn't accept it.
Instead of pocketing the cash, honest Adriana called the police and held on to the stack of $100 bills until an officer arrived.
Police will hold the cash in evidence until bank officials determine who it belongs to.
On the police department's Facebook page, officers thanked Allen for "her honesty and compassion, and for doing the right thing."
