S. Fla. Shipping Company Asking For Donated Goods For Bahamas
MIAMI(CBS4)- The main cargo carrier between the U.S. and The Bahamas is shipping donated goods to those in need throughout the islands, and they're asking South Florida residents to assist.
G and G Shipping ferries goods from the U.S.to the Bahamas from Port Everglades.
They've received reports from their Bahamian offices that outer islands have sustained major damage. That's why the company will be shipping donated hurricane relief supplies, mostly construction related items, at no cost to help those in need rebuild.
"There's a lot of heavy roof damage in the southern Bahamans … and we're getting more word that that the need opposed to food and water and supplies," said CGL Mike Grandonico, who is the president of G & G Shipping.
Supplies such as plywood, roofing materials and tarps can be dropped off at G and G Shipping at 1300 Eller Drive inFort Lauderdale. The office is located just outside Port Everglades.
