S. Fla. Man Robbed, Beaten, Left Standing In His Skivvies
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) -- A North Miami Beach man, doing a good deed early Thursday morning, was robbed at gunpoint, beaten and left stripped down to his skivvies in Miami Gardens.
According to Miami Gardens Police, Robert Leipzig, 57, was in the parking lot of an AutoZone at 200 NW 191st Street at 5:30 a.m. trying to trap feral cats in order to have them spayed or neutered to help reduce the risk of overpopulation.
While in the parking lot, two young men approached him and one of them ordered him into a waiting vehicle. When Leipzig refused, the suspect pistol-whipped him then demanded his money and jewelry.
Leipzig refused again so the suspects ordered him to take off his pants.
Left standing in his underwear, the suspects took off with both his pants, which contained his wallet and jewelry, and also his rented beige Toyota Camry with Florida tag S307TG.
