Rush Hour Takes Unexpected Turn For Expectant Mother
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A drive down the Dolphin Expressway during Thursday's evening rush hour turned into an unforgettable experience for one local woman.
Ana Delia Bracho was in labor when she was being driven to Jackson Memorial Hospital by Michael Domenico. But the baby wasn't ready to wait for traffic along the Dolphin Expressway to clear out and decided to make an early appearance.
Domenico pulled into an exit ramp and called 911. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Unit 40 was the first on the scene followed by FHP trooper Aliek Sierra, who ended up assisting in the delivery.
The baby was not due for another month, but weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce upon deliver Thursday.
Bracho and her new baby are both recovering in South Miami Hospital.
